Writing a formal letter
【情景呈现】
假定你是某国际学校的高中生Chris。前几日，你的朋友和你聊起他们学校已经采用人工智能（AI）来辅助教学，反响不错。你也在网上查找了相关资料，于是你决定给你校校长写一封信，请求学校引进这一科技。
注意： 1. 词数150左右；
2. 可进行适当发挥，以使行文连贯。

一、文体分析
1. 本文是书信体，要按照书信格式进行书写；在正式信函中，称呼和落款不能太随意。
2. 正文由三部分组成：
（1）写信目的——正式信件中需要开门见山地道明写信缘由，以便引起收信人的及时关注；
（2）论证利弊——要有理有据地进行客观论证，以增加收信人认同你的观点或同意你的请求的几率。
（3）重申诉求——结尾处通过对利弊的总结，重申你的诉求，与信件的开头相呼应。

As for us students, it will give us guidance and additional support. When we fall behind, it tells us what to improve and help us work at our own pace. Thus we can improve our studies effectively and our interest in learning is inspired.
Admittedly, there exist some possible threats. It is claimed that heavy reliance on AI will cost us critical thinking skills and cause unemployment. But we should keep in mind that we are not a slave to technology, but its master.
In a word, I hope AI technology can be applied in our school, which will benefit us a lot.

I am writing to express my concern about the overheated robotics competitions in our school.
Admittedly, the robotics competition will excite students’ interest in technology, and more of us may become engineering talent. What’s more, the competitions can encourage creativity. But personally, the disadvantages outweigh the advantages if some problems are ignored.
First, such a competition involves a large sum of money spent on new parts. Most high school students have to cover the cost themselves, which may place a large financial burden on their families. Besides, in the absence of expert guidance, students need to buy many books and devote much energy to research. If it’s held frequently, it will have a negative effect on our studies.
In summary, the competition should be supported, but held in a proper way and with some financial support from the school.
